In communities across South Coast, particularly in Mthwalume, young people have begun organising small but meaningful initiatives aimed at addressing local challenges and improving social cohesion.
These initiatives include community clean-ups, awareness campaigns, and informal support networks focused on assisting vulnerable households.
Many of the programmes are driven by volunteers who are motivated by a desire to create positive change within their surroundings.
Despite limited resources, youth groups have shown consistency and creativity in mobilising community members and encouraging participation.
Local leaders have welcomed these efforts, highlighting the importance of youth involvement in shaping the future of their communities and contributing to sustainable development, while also combating petty crimes around communities at large.
